Phyn Partners with Amica to Safeguard Homes Against Costly Water Damage

Business Wire

LINCOLN, R.I. & LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Phyn, the leader in intelligent water solutions, today announced that it is partnering with Amica Insurance, a leader in auto, home, and life insurance, to safeguard homes and prevent water-related loss by offering its award-winning suite of leak detection devices to Amica policyholders. Phyn’s technology not only protects a home’s plumbing system to prevent leaks and ensure it is watertight, but it also empowers homeowners to conserve and avoid unnecessary water loss.

As part of the partnership, eligible Amica policyholders can receive a 15% discount on Phyn products ranging from the DIY-installed Phyn Smart Water Assistant and Smart Water Sensor to the professionally installed Phyn Plus with a built-in shutoff valve. Policyholders may also be eligible for additional discounts on their insurance premiums. Phyn’s mobile app provides vital information to homeowners, from real-time leak alerts and pre-freeze warnings to abnormal water activity and water consumption data, while Phyn Plus also provides remote auto shutoff. With Phyn's suite of smart water monitoring solutions, homeowners are alerted immediately to potential plumbing issues before they escalate, ultimately preventing water-related losses and enhancing overall home protection.

“Phyn’s industry-leading water monitoring solutions arm homeowners with 24/7 protection against costly water leaks and provide an unprecedented view of their plumbing system,” said Ryan Kim, CEO of Phyn. “Undetected leaks can lead to a host of issues and headaches for homeowners, including health hazards, displacement from your home, financial losses upwards of thousands of dollars, and damage to irreplaceable personal belongings. With Phyn, Amica is empowering their policyholders with the right tools to not only avoid the devastating financial and health effects of water damage, but also make informed data-driven decisions on their water usage.”

Laurie Tremblay, Senior Innovation Analyst at Amica, said, “We’re pleased to welcome Phyn as our partner. Bringing peace of mind to our policyholders is crucial, and we’re excited to offer them innovative tools like these to help protect their homes. Water loss mitigation is especially important for homeowners because water damage can have significant and costly consequences. With Phyn's expertise, we can better safeguard our customers against potential water damage and its impacts.”

Phyn and Amica will collaborate to offer Amica policyholders Phyn’s suite of smart water solutions including:

  • Phyn Plus: Installed on a single location on the main water line, Phyn Plus is a powerful smart water monitor that protects homes from leak damage with unmatched accuracy and reliability and provides detailed insights into water use to help conserve and save. If it detects abnormally high water flow in your home, Phyn Plus will automatically shut off the water to mitigate costly damage.

  • Phyn Smart Water Assistant: Self-installed under a sink, the DIY Phyn Smart Water Assistant monitors the water in your entire home to automatically alert you the second a leak is detected, and provide detailed insights into how each fixture in your home uses water.

  • Phyn Smart Water Sensor: The puck-sized Phyn Smart Water Sensor is engineered to provide fast, early detection alerts when a leak starts or weather conditions push water into the home. As the first line of defense, the moment water comes in contact with the sensor, a notification is sent directly to your phone, the device starts flashing, and an audible alarm is triggered. When combined with Phyn Plus, it can automatically shut off the water, delivering added convenience and peace of mind.
