'Strategic Asset Allocation' Conference Session Set for Sept. 13 by American Property Casualty Insurance Association

CHICAGO, Illinois, Aug. 25 (TNSeve) -- The American Property Casualty Insurance Association has scheduled a conference session as part of its Investment Conference on Sept. 13, 2021, entitled "Strategic Asset Allocation: How Can Insurers Find Yield Without Taking Undue Risk?":

Since the onset of the pandemic, spreads have largely recovered and are approaching levels that are uncomfortably tight. While the broad economic backdrop is positive for spread sectors, the heavy use of economic stabilizers creates fragility to shocks and will create increasingly asymmetric risk profiles across and within different industries and asset classes. Against this backdrop, insurance companies are being forced to find new ways to generate yield without taking undue risk. In this session, we will discuss how insurance companies can expand their "toolkit" in this challenging market environment.

Speaker: Michael Pagano

Michael Pagano is head of insurance portfolio management at Voya Investment Management, responsible for developing and implementing full-service customized investment solutions across all asset classes for Voya's proprietary general account as well as Voya's external insurance clients. Prior to joining Voya, Pagano worked at New York Life Investment Management where he headed the portfolio specialist group focused on growing and managing the external asset management business of the firm's fixed income investors group. Prior to that, he traded and managed investment grade credit portfolios for both proprietary and external insurance company assets. Previously, he worked at Fiduciary Asset Management managing multi-sector taxable fixed income portfolios and at Merrill Lynch and Bank of America as an institutional structured product salesman. He earned an MBA from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business and a BA in economics and political science from Amherst College.
