The Columbus, Ohio-based company said it had profit of 1 cent per share. Losses, adjusted for investment gains, were 47 cents per share.
The insurance holding company posted revenue of $414.7 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $387.6 million.
State Auto Financial shares have nearly tripled since the beginning of the year. The stock has more than tripled in the last 12 months.
