Spencer Wayne Adamik

Spencer Wayne Adamik was born November 21, 1 936, in Waco, Texas to the late Henry Cecil Adamik, Sr. and Tillie Catherine Melasky. Wayne graduated from Waco High School and made many lifelong connections while studying Building Products Marketing at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. on July3, 1958, he met his future wife, Joan Marie Ward, at the Southwestern Bell employee recreation center while watching her play ping pong. One year to the day later, July 3, 1 959, they were married at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waco, Texas.

They moved to the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and in May of 1962, welcomed son, Jason Michael. In June of 1 963, Kevin Paul completed the young family. Wayne began his working life after college selling lumber, drywall, garage additions, new roofs and even his first "spec' house before beginning his professional career as a life insurance agent with General American, Pilot Life and Equity Funding, where he won many awards for best salesman nationwide. He then started his own company, Third Party Administrators, Inc. in 1 974. Wayne led the company to tremendous success, expanding to more than 1 5 states and continuing to revolutionize the health insurance industry. He sold the company in 2003 and then became an owner/partner in Enterprise Plumbing, LLC in Richardson, Texas. Wayne's true passion, though, was homebuilding. He loved being the general contractor when he built his home in Garland in 1 973 and when he totally remodeled the home he bought in Piano in 1 998. After Joan's death in 201 0, Wayne moved to Bryan and built several rental houses, and in 2020 he designed and built his own new home.

Wayne and Joan traveled the world, touring and vacationing in the U.S., Canada, almost every country in Europe, Bermuda, the Bahamas, Russia, China, Australia, New Zealand, Morocco, Mexico, Aruba, Costa Rica, Panama, and the Caribbean. The boys shared Wayne's love of travel, and Joan prayed them safely through every airplane ride and adventure. Wayne remained a dedicated fan of Texas A&M sports throughout his adult life, attending every Texas Aggie football game, home and away, faithfully for 30 years straight, only breaking his streak for a hurricane or health reasons. He also enjoyed travel, dinners, plays, sporting events and musicals with family, friends and business associates, and he loved having lunch with his classmates in Dallas and College Station every month.

Family was always at the center of Wayne's life. He remained deeply devoted to Joan for their 51 years of marriage. He took great pride in his sons and great joy in his grandchildren. He will be remembered by his family as a loving provider and protector who did everything in his power to ensure his family's happiness.

Wayne lived life fully and although he rarely compromised, his gregarious nature and charismatic personality won him a great many friends who remained dear to him throughout his life. His friendship, sense of humor, and giving spirit will be missed by all.

Spencer Wayne Adamik passed away peacefully of natural causes on Saturday June 3, 2023 while visiting his son, Jason, in Albuquerque. He is survived by his sons, Jason and Kevin; daughter-in law, Katya; grandchildren, David, Kristina and Sophia; brother, Larry and sister-in-law, Sue; and nephews, Brian, Darren and Keith Adamik and David and Jim Brannen.

The family will greet friends at a Vigil on Wednesday, June 21 at 9 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 507 E. 26th Street, Bryan, Texas 77803. A Rosary will follow at 10 a.m., then Rev.

Brian Eilers will offer a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Following Mass, family and friends will process to Waco for a Committal Service and Interment at Oakwood Cemetery, 21 24 S. 5th Street, Waco, Texas 76706 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Wayne's memory.
