The purpose of this notice is to provide industry with a draft Request for Proposal to obtain a Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) to provide specified health insurance benefit administration services, including Medicare claims processing and payment services, in support of the Medicare program (also known as the MEDICARE FEE-FOR-SERVICE, OR FFS PROGRAM) for Part A and Part B services. The CMS is publishing this draft solicitation to obtain feedback on the clarity and efficacy of the changes in advance of the release of future RFPs. We are soliciting comments on the draft RFP (including attachments), and the new MAC procurement schedule.

This draft RFP announcement is not to be construed as a formal solicitation or RFP. The purpose of this notice is to provide information and to request feedback only; there is no intent to award a contract on the basis of this notice. The Government will not provide reimbursement of costs associated with any documentation or communication submitted in response to this notice.

CMS will use the information submitted in response to this RFI at its discretion and is not obligated to comment on any vendor's submission. However, responses submitted to this RFI may be used in the development of final MAC Statements or Work (SOWs) and/or RFPs. CMS reserves the right to contact any vendor that responds to this RFI for the sole purpose of enhancing CMS' understanding of your RFI submission.
