Solidarity HealthShare, Major Sponsor of 2019 March For Life, Honors Physician Who Helped Champion New Abortion Pill Reversal Procedure

PR Newswire

WASHINGTON, Jan. 16, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Solidarity HealthShare, a pro-life healthcare sharing ministry and major sponsor of the 2019 March For Life honors George Delgado, M.D., with the Solidarity HealthShare's Pro-Life Innovator Award.

In 2019 Obamacare Will Force More Americans to Choose Between Healthcare and Conscience, Abortions up 23%, Pro-Life Americans Now Have a Choice (PRNewsfoto/Solidarity HealthShare)

Dr. Delgado, who has been studying reversing the effects of the medical abortion drug mifepristone since 2009 is the medical director of Culture of Life Family Services in San Diego, CA and helped champion the lifesaving abortion pill reversal process. "The progesterone protocol offers another opportunity to women who change their minds after beginning the medical abortion procedure. It is a second chance at choice, and does not increase the risks of birth defects," said Dr. Delgado.

"Our mission at Solidarity HealthShare is to provide a pro-life alternative to health insurance. Unlike other plans we never pay for abortion. We are excited to see the life-affirming work being done by physicians such as Dr. Delgado. We honor his work which reflects one of our primary goals at Solidarity HealthShare, to provide Pro-Life solutions for healthcare," said Solidarity HealthShare CEO Bradley Hahn.

Progesterone is the hormone essential to the maintenance of a normal, healthy pregnancy. Mifepristone acts as a progesterone receptor blocker. In the United States, 30 to 40% of all abortions are chemically induced.

The medical study, published in the peer-reviewed medical journal, Issues in Law and Medicine, examined 261 successful mifepristone reversals, the success rates were as high as 68%.

"Because the physician prescribed the progesterone, my son, Zechariah, survived the abortion pill, and is a healthy, thriving 4-year-old. I cannot imagine life without him," said Rebekah Buell Hagan an abortion pill reversal patient.

Solidarity HealthShare is a life affirming healthcare sharing organization that believes it is time to build a healthcare system that respects and defends life at all stages.

David Bereit, 40 Days for Life co-founder is a member of Solidarity HealthShare. "We searched for a healthcare sharing option that allows us to fully live our healthcare in alignment with our values, our beliefs that actually advance the pro-life cause that we believe so deeply in and that's what we found in Solidarity HealthShare."

Solidarity HealthShare is a healthcare sharing ministry that offers its members an affordable and ethical way to pay for healthcare. Based on the social and moral doctrine of the Catholic Church, we protect our members' well-formed consciences by sharing in the costs of life-affirming healthcare, and by refusing to participate in unethical medical practices. Our mission is to restore and rebuild an authentic Catholic healthcare system that promotes the sanctity of all human life, while facilitating the sharing of our members' medical expenses.
