Congressional Documents & Publications
WASHINGTON - Senator Maggie Hassan released the following statement today after President Trump approved New Hampshire for a disaster declaration for the severe storms and flooding that impacted communities from July 1 - 2, 2017:
"The storm in early July wreaked havoc in communities across New Hampshire, causing significant property damage and taking a financial toll on Granite State families and businesses. I am pleased that the Trump Administration has acknowledged the need for federal assistance to support state and local recovery efforts underway. I urge the Trump Administration to distribute the funding as quickly as possible to ensure that members of affected communities have the resources they need to fully recover from this emergency."
Senator Hassan joined the other members of the Congressional Delegation in sending a letter to President Trump urging him to heed Governor Sununu's request for a disaster declaration following the July 2017 storms.
