Sen. Stabenow Introduces Bill on Tax on Private Foundation Excess Business Holdings

WASHINGTON, Aug. 2 -- Sen. Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., has introduced legislation (S. 2423) to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 for purposes of the tax on private foundation excess business holdings "to treat as outstanding any employee-owned stock purchased by a business enterprise pursuant to certain employee stock ownership retirement plans."

The bill was introduced on Aug. 1 and was co-sponsored by Sen. Gary Peters, D-Mich. It was referred to the Senate Finance Committee.
