Sen. Portman Announces $5.5 Million in FEMA Grants for ProMedica Toledo Hospital to Help Fund COVID-19 Protective Measures

CINCINNATI, Ohio, May 28 -- Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, issued the following news release:
U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) announced that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security'sFederal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded two grants to ProMedica Toledo Hospital totaling more than $5.5 million to help respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This FEMA funding is provided through the bipartisan Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which Portman supported and was signed into law by President Trump.
"The more than $5.5 million in federal funding announced today is great news for Northwest Ohioans who live near, work, or are treated at ProMedica Toledo Hospital," said Portman. "This funding will help ensure the hospital has the emergency protective measures necessary to continue to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. I will continue to work with my colleagues to ensure our health care systems and all Ohioans have the resources they need during these uncertain times."
