WASHINGTON, June 20 -- The office of Sen. Martin Heinrich, D-N.M., issued the following news release:
U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) is calling for New Mexicans and people across the country to share a video or photo using the hashtag #AmericaSpeaksOut to highlight what they stand to lose under President Trump and Congressional Republicans' health care bill.
"President Trump and Republicans in the House rushed through a disastrous plan that would leave New Mexicans paying more for less health coverage and would throw our health care system into chaos," said Senator Heinrich. "Right now, Senate Republicans are drafting their version of the bill in secret, behind closed doors, with absolutely no bipartisan input. The stakes are especially high for New Mexicans and their voices must be heard."
To participate in the campaign, New Mexicans and people across the country can share a short video or photo on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram using the hashtag #AmericaSpeaksOut with their story on why they value affordable coverage for pre-existing conditions, why they are worried about health care costs, why Medicaid cuts would hurt themselves or a loved one, and any other reasons why Trumpcare poses a risk to them.
