Sen. Brown Introduces Bill on Governmental Plans for Health Care Insurance

WASHINGTON, May 27 -- Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, has introduced legislation (S. 4312) to "amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to repeal the direct payment requirement on the exclusion from gross income of distributions from governmental plans for health and long-term care insurance."
The bill was introduced on May 25 and was co-sponsored by Sens. John Thune, R-S.D., Mark R. Warner, D-Va., and Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa. It was referred to the Senate Finance Committee.
