SCOR Announces New Members to Its Life Americas Management Team

Business Wire

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- SCOR today announced two new members to its Life management team in the U.S. effective February 1.

David Anderson, Senior Vice President, US Life Reinsurance, and Alan Routhenstein, Senior Vice President, Financial Solutions, join as members of the SCOR management team that sets strategic direction and oversees daily operations for SCOR’s Life operations in the Americas.

“Dave and Alan bring experience and expertise that position us to expand our footprint in life reinsurance and specialty areas,” said J.C. Brueckner, CEO of SCOR Global Life Americas. “Both are proven leaders in our industry and, along with the rest of our management team, will continue to build upon our strong position in the U.S. life reinsurance market.”

Upon joining SCOR, Anderson will be responsible for new business development and client centricity initiatives underway at the company. He reports to Brock Robbins, Executive Vice President and Head of U.S. Markets.

Most recently, Anderson served as president of TIAA-CREF Life Insurance Company where he drove growth in life and annuity sales and directed significant operational improvements. Anderson also held senior leadership roles at Thrivent Financial.

“Dave’s deep knowledge and understanding of the primary life insurance business and the challenges and opportunities facing carriers today are extremely valuable to us as we execute a more client centric approach to the market,” Robbins said.

Routhenstein, a recognized expert on US regulatory aspects of reserve and capital management, will oversee the expansion of SCOR’s Financial Solutions business in the US market, reporting to Robbins and to David O’Brien, Global Head of SCOR’s Financial Solutions line of business.

Routhenstein is joining SCOR directly from Milliman, Inc., where he has been Principal and Consulting Actuary. During his tenure there he has managed numerous consulting projects involving the evaluation, structuring and implementation of XXX/AXXX reserve and other capital management solutions for primary insurance companies. Prior to his role at Milliman, Routhenstein worked in investment banking and structured reinsurance with life insurance groups as his clients.

“As a life reinsurance market leader, we recognize the importance of the services we offer in the area of capital management and ROE delivery for our clients,” O’Brien said. “We are very fortunate to have Alan lead our Americas Financial Solutions team given his expertise in advising clients on evaluating, structuring and implementing capital management solutions for their life insurance portfolios.”
