Sanitas enters Paraguay through Mapfre with a new health insurance policy

CE Noticias Financieras (Latin America)

Bupa, parent company of Sanitas, and Mapfre have strengthened their alliance and on Thursday announced the launch and benefits for customers in Paraguay of the International Private Health Insurance (IPMI) catalog.

Thanks to this alliance, customers will be able to access the highest quality health care products and services in the world. As part of the global offering, Mapfre policyholders in Paraguay will have access to one of the most extensive and recognized networks of medical providers through Bupa, an international healthcare specialist with more than 43 million customers worldwide.

"We are proud to share with you this long-awaited objective achieved by Mapfre Paraguay, which becomes an important milestone in its history in our 35 years in the country, and which will allow Paraguayans to have access to International Health Insurance with the support of the Mapfre brand, the leading insurance group in Latin America, in alliance with Bupa, a leading global health care company. This strategic alliance reflects our ongoing commitment to caring for people's health and well-being, no matter where they are. By diversifying our product portfolio, we reaffirm our position as leaders in the Paraguayan insurance market and strengthen our role in society, fulfilling more than ever our purpose 'We take care of what matters to you,'" said Raquel Riveros, CEO of Mapfre Paraguay.

"This is the second step of our agreement with Mapfre in Latin America thanks to which both companies now serve the needs of Paraguayans seeking comprehensive health care," said Iñaki Peralta, CEO of Sanitas and Bupa Europe & LatinAmerica. "We are very proud to offer the most innovative local and international health plans to Paraguay that offer the best face-to-face healthcare combined with the benefits that digitalization brings to healthcare management," said Peralta.

The local and international plans offered in Paraguay under this alliance, Trébol Salud Global and Trébol Salud Global Exclusive, have an annual benefit of up to US$7 MM and coverage of up to 100%, in excess of the contracted deductible, for care in Paraguay and abroad for outpatient and inpatient treatment, surgery, maternity, oncology, transplant procedures, congenital diseases, coverage for high-risk sports and many other benefits, whose terms and conditions can be consulted by the client by logging on to www.mapfre.com.py. All this in a first-class international medical network, to which an innovative digital ecosystem for prevention and health monitoring, Blua, is added.

Bupa, Sanitas' parent company, and Mapfre, the largest insurance company in Latin America, with a presence in 17 markets in the region, are joining forces in Paraguay, after launching in Peru, to continue advancing in other South American countries. The alliance signed by the two companies covers the Latin American region, and joint opportunities in other countries are being explored. The alliance was signed reflecting a long-term agreement, the result of a strong commitment to establishing a solid and lasting relationship.
