LOOK AHEAD -- Retirement savings, college planning and life insurance are among the topics to be discussed at "Financial Spring Cleaning," a free seminar at 7 p.m. tonight in Father Cotter Hall at Blessed Sacrament Church, 263 Claremont Ave., Town of Tonawanda. Leading the discussion will be Michael Mangone and Russ Montgomery of Mass Mutual.

GRASS ROOTS -- Guest speaker is historian Alan Davis at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the IMAGINE Buffalo lunchtime lecture series in the Ring of Knowledge on the main floor of the Central Library on Lafayette Square in downtown Buffalo. His topic will be "Griffins Mills, NY: Place-based Learning and Making History Come Alive."

The program begins at noon with a Great Courses video on Emerson, Thoreau and the Transcendentalist Movement. Admission is free. You can bring a lunch or purchase one at the library's Fables Cafe. The series is sponsored by the Center for the Study of Art & Architecture; History & Nature.

CURING INEQUALITY -- The effects of disparities in health care will be discussed in "Healthy Equity: Weaving the Tapestry of Care," a series of workshops from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Buffalo Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 3495 Bailey Ave.

Topics include the impact of agism, food deserts, opiate abuse and access to care. Keynote panel will be moderated by Dr. Uchenna S.
