Rep. Pascrell Ridicules Trump for Health Care Reversal

WASHINGTON, July 26 -- Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr., D-New Jersey, issued the following news release:
Today, Representative Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09) reacted to the sudden decision by the Trump administration that it will fund risk adjustments to stabilize insurance markets which have been spooked because of the administration's repeated deliberate sabotage.
"The timing of the Trump administration's announcement to finally fund the risk adjustment payments says all you need to know about its motives. After freezing them earlier this month, the administration now sees this is the last tool in their toolbox to prevent premiums from spiking. Already, insurers have begun submitting their rate increases, and in states across the country, we're seeing premium spikes in the double digits due to their ACA subversion campaign.
"Even with this decision, the damage cannot be undone. Three million fewer people are ensured now than before Trump took office. The repeal of the Individual Mandate is projected to lead to 13 million people losing coverage. The administration's deliberate vandalizing of the ACA will cause premiums to skyrocket even more for those with pre-existing conditions. The markets will stabilize only when Trump stops his sabotage and stops seeking to take coverage away from Americans."
