Rep. Pappas Issues Statement on 5th Circuit Court Ruling on Affordable Care Act

WASHINGTON, Dec. 20 -- Rep. Chris Pappas, D-New Hampshire, issued the following statement following the 5th Circuit Court ruling on the Affordable Care Act's constitutionality:

"The Affordable Care Act provides lifesaving health care and critical protections for people across New Hampshire.

"The repeated partisan attacks on the ACA are putting the health and well-being of Granite Staters in jeopardy. I remain committed to strengthening the Affordable Care Act and putting an end to the dangerous litigation and sabotage effort by this Administration and Republicans in Congress. Let's move forward to protect and expand coverage, lower costs, and improve health outcomes for Granite Staters."

In his first 100 days in office, Congressman Pappas took to the House floor to reaffirm his commitment to expanding access to health care for New Hampshire families while calling on his colleagues to cease efforts to undermine the Affordable Care Act.

Since taking office, Congressman Pappas has condemned the Administration's efforts to dismantle the Affordable Care Act through the Texas v. U.S. lawsuit and voted to empower House Counsel to intervene. Additionally, Congressman Pappas co-sponsored The Protecting Pre-Existing Conditions & Making Health Care Affordable Act which will lower health insurance premiums, strengthen protections for people with pre-existing conditions, and crackdown on junk health insurance plans.
