SEDONA, A, July 31 -- Rep. Tom O'Halleran, D-Ariz., issued the following news release:
Today, as a member of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus, Rep. Tom O'Halleran (AZ-CD 01) is proud to announce an agreement on a bipartisan set of principles to stabilize health insurance markets and provide relief to individuals, families, and small businesses.
"We are now taking this opportunity to do what Americans want: have the parties work together to fix our health care markets with sensible and fair changes to allow people to afford reliable health care. While the Senate debated, we have been diligently working on a bipartisan framework. We must move forward swiftly to stabilize the health insurance market to ensure elderly Arizonans, veterans, and those living with disabilities continue to have access to affordable health coverage. Then we can focus on reforming the Affordable Care Act, protecting critical subsidies that make coverage affordable for low-income Americans, and providing critical resources for states to bring down costs."
"This thoughtful, bipartisan agenda gives us a good foundation to discuss fixes to the Affordable Care Act and how we can stabilize the marketplace. It is an important first step in returning to regular order, with an open and transparent legislative process that allows for input from citizens, policy experts, and members both parties."
"I will continue engaging my constituents and health care providers in this discussion and will update you on our progress. I look forward to working with my colleagues in the Problem Solvers Caucus to pass meaningful legislation that provides affordable health coverage for hardworking Arizonans."
