Washington, DC - Today, Rep. Mimi Walters (R-California) released the following statement regarding the introduction of H. Res. 1066. Rep. Walters is an original cosponsor of this resolution, which expresses the sense of the U.S. House of Representatives that any legislation must ensure individuals with pre-existing conditions have access to health care insurance.
Said Congresswoman Walters, "All Americans must have access to quality, affordable health care coverage, especially individuals with pre-existing conditions. In February 2017, I cosponsored the Pre-existing Conditions Protection of 2017, which requires health insurers to provide coverage to those with pre-existing conditions and ensures that patients will not pay more based on their health status. My original cosponsorship of H. Res. 1066 reaffirms my strong support for protecting Americans with pre-existing conditions."
Walters represents California's45th District and serves on the House Energy & Commerce and House Ethics Committees.
