WASHINGTON, Jan. 13 -- Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa (4th CD), issued the following statement after voting YES to pass the 2017 budget resolution, beginning the process of repealing Obamacare:
"Today, Congress took the first step in repealing Obamacare by passing the 2017 budget resolution.
"From the botched implementation to President Obama unilaterally ignoring the law to the delay of mandates and the Supreme Court's rewrite of the bill's language without Congressional oversight, Obamacare has been a complete failure since day one. Americans have been forced to find new doctors and health insurance plans as they face rising premiums and out-of-control deductibles.
"I knew this would be the outcome, and on the morning after it passed into law, March 24, 2010, I wrote the first, full 100% repeal of Obamacare. Since then, I have consistently reintroduced the same magic 40 word repeal bill, my language has passed the House multiple times.
"And yet, Democrats have continued to try to bailout their sinking ship. It is time we stop drowning in the failures of Obamacare. It is time to repeal this egregious law, and provide real healthcare solutions to the American people."
