Rep. Deutch Introduces Bill to Provide for Social Security Benefit Protection

WASHINGTON, April 13 -- Rep. Ted Deutch, D-Fla., has introduced legislation (H.R. 2302) to amend title II of the Social Security Act and the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 "to make improvements in the old-age, survivors, and disability insurance program, and to provide for Social Security benefit protection."
The bill was introduced on April 12 and has seven co-sponsors. Co-sponsors include Reps. David N. Cicilline, D-R.I., Marcy Kaptur, D-Ohio, Alcee L. Hastings, D-Fla., John Sarbanes, D-Md., Chellie Pingree, D-Maine, Steve Cohen, D-Tenn., and Del. Gregorio Sablan, D-M.P.
The legislation was jointly referred to the House Ways and Means, Energy and Commerce and Education and Labor committees.
