Rep. Crist Issues Statement on Continuing Resolution Vote

WASHINGTON, Jan. 17 -- Rep. Charlie Crist, D-Florida, issued the following statement regarding an expected vote on another continuing resolution, which would keep the government on a month-to-month budget.

While failing to provide for our defense and domestic needs and leaving in limbo our DREAMers, full reauthorization of the National Flood Insurance Program, disaster relief and funding for community health centers.

"The House of Representatives is once again being asked to vote on a short-term spending bill that fails to address the many urgent challenges facing our nation. I voted for the last two continuing resolutions to allow more time to negotiate these issues. But 'time's up.'

"This is no way to run a government. What does kicking the can to mid-February help solve that we can't hash out this week? The answer: nothing.

"The American people elected us to solve problems, not play games. Unless or until we get serious about the fixes and compromises we know we need to make to move our nation forward, I'm a NO on the continuing resolution."
