Rep. Coffman Introduces Bill to Prohibit Application of Preexisting Condition Exclusions Under Public Health Service Act

WASHINGTON, Aug. 7 -- Rep. Mike Coffman, R-Colo., has introduced legislation (H.R. 5328) to "amend the Public Health Service Act to prohibit application of preexisting condition exclusions and to guarantee availability of health insurance coverage in the individual and group market, contingent on the enactment of legislation repealing the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act."
The bill was introduced on July 31 and has two co-sponsors. Co-sponsors include Reps. Stevan Pearce, R-N.M., and David Valadao, R-Calif.
The legislation was referred to the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
