Rep. Barletta Stands Ready to Help Donald Trump, Paul Ryan End Medicare As We Know It

HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania, Feb. 13 -- The Pennsylvania Democratic Party issued the following news:
This week the White House unveiled a budget that cuts $1.7 trillion from Medicare and other programs seniors and those approaching retirement depend on. These draconian cuts are in line with Paul Ryan's stated goal of slashing Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security in 2018. This radical plan will no doubt have fewer bigger supporters than Congressman Lou Barletta, who has spent his entire political career attacking these programs that help so many of Pennsylvania's seniors and working families.
"Congressman Lou Barletta has spent his entire career working to voucherize Medicare, privatize Social Security, and slash Medicaid funding," said Pennsylvania Democratic Party spokesman Max Steele. "Just months ago he voted for a plan to force older Pennsylvanians to pay an age tax for their care while sending out-of-pocket health care costs skyrocketing. Now that Donald Trump and Paul Ryan are proposing massive cuts, Pennsylvanians can expect Congressman Barletta to be the biggest cheerleader for any plan that ends Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security as we know it. Always has, always will."
