Renew Financial Honored as “Outstanding Green Business” by Gulf Coast Region U.S. Green Building Council

PR Newswire

TAMPA, Fla., Nov. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Renew Financial, a leading provider of financing for home improvements, today announced that it has been named an "Outstanding Green Business" by the Gulf Coast Region U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

The announcement came at the eighth annual USGBC Florida Gulf Coast LEEDership Awards Ceremony held on October 26th in downtown Tampa, Florida.

"This award is a testament to Renew Financial's commitment to Florida and all of the communities we serve," said Cisco DeVries, CEO of Renew Financial. "Renew Financial is a private company with a public service mission. We work hard every day to improve people's lives by making critical home improvements more accessible. In the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, our main priority is to help Floridians renew and rebuild, so families can live more securely and comfortably in their homes."

The Florida Gulf Coast Region chapter of USGBC annually recognizes and honors community leaders, volunteers, projects, and businesses that help grow the sustainable economy and protect the environment. Renew Financial's RenewPACE program serves these goals by empowering Florida homeowners to make energy upgrades and hurricane resilience improvements to their homes with Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing. Nationally, upgrades financed to date with Renew Financial PACE products are estimated to conserve more than 1.478 billion gallons of water and prevent over 900,000 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions by conserving more than 614 million kilowatt-hours of energy over their useful lifetimes.

Renew Financial has been a national leader in PACE financing since 2008 and has played an integral leadership role in establishing robust consumer protection standards in PACE markets across the country. PACE is one of the fastest growing financing industries in the U.S. and has empowered more than 150,000 American families to make energy upgrades and wind-resilience improvements to their homes. Being a 100% privately financed program, PACE is widely supported by business and policy leaders for its ability to improve people's lives, save homeowners money on their utility bills and insurance premiums, create local jobs, and reduce greenhouse-gas emissions – all without a single dollar of taxpayer funds.
