CHESTERFIELD, Mo. (AP) _ Reinsurance Group of America Inc. (RGA) on Thursday reported third-quarter net income of $213 million.
On a per-share basis, the Chesterfield, Missouri-based company said it had profit of $3.12. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $3.51 per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.98 per share.
The reinsurance company posted revenue of $3.64 billion in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $3.58 billion.
Reinsurance Group shares have declined 35% since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased 35% in the last 12 months.
