NEWARK, N.J. (AP) _ Prudential Financial Inc. (PRU) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter net income of $1.21 billion.
The Newark, New Jersey-based company said it had net income of $3.13 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $3.18 per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.39 per share.
The financial services company posted revenue of $13.74 billion in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $13.44 billion.
