President Donald J. Trump Amends Major Declaration for Florida

WASHINGTON, Oct. 2 -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security'sFederal Emergency Management Agency issued the following news release:
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced today that additional disaster assistance is available to the state of Florida. The additional assistance authorizes an increase in the level of federal funding to the state for debris removal as a result of Hurricane Irma.
Under the major disaster declaration issued for the state of Florida on Sept. 10, federal funding was made available for debris removal at 75 percent of the total eligible costs.
The federal share for debris removal, including direct federal assistance, has been increased to 90 percent of the total eligible costs for a period of 30 days from the start of the declaration.
