Oct. 10--Crash kills man on I-80A Bloomsburg man died after crashing his pickup truck into a guiderail along Interstate 80 westbound in Nescopeck Township late Wednesday night, state police at Hazleton said.Ronald Joseph Laberta, 62, was ejected from his vehicle and died as a result of his injuries, police said.His vehicle was located three-tenths of a mile west down an embankment and partially into the woods, police said.Hazleton incidentsHazleton police issued releases alleging the following. Police said the act of criminal mischief occurred around 8:30 p.m. Thursday.? Someone broke into a white Ford sedan in the 700 block of North Locust Street sometime between 12:20 p.m. Wednesday and 9:04 a.m. Thursday. Police said a black nylon purse was taken from inside the vehicle.? Willie Blankenship, 54, of Hazleton, was taken into police custody and cited for criminal trespass after police said he was found inside a burned out building near the intersection of Alter and West 10th streets Thursday at 12:20 p.m.-- Daisy De La Rosa, of the 500 block of North Bennett Court, said sometime between 6:30 and 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, someone forced their way into her home and took various items.-- A 2007 Honda was hit while parked in the area of Noble and Wyoming streets between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. The offending vehicle took off after the crash.-- Amber Zebrosky, 28, Hazleton, was cited for public drunkenness after she was found under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances in the area of Wyoming and Holly streets Wednesday at 5:10 p.m.Two-vehicle crash on Route 940Two people were injured after a two-car crash in Hazle Township on Thursday morning.State police at Hazleton said a vehicle driven by Betty Gavinski, Freeland, was traveling west and another driven by Mary L. Cotto Naranjo, Freeland, was traveling east on state Route 940 around 9:16 a.m. Troopers said when Gavinski made a left turn onto Stockton Road, she traveled into the path of Cotto Naranjo, who steered to the right but was unable to avoid impact. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed and Gavinski will be cited, troopers said.Hazle Township fire and personnel from American Patient Transport Systems Inc. and Freeland Ambulance assisted.Charges, citationsCharges or citations have been filed against the following, according to court documents.
