Phyllis I. Gorman, 72
Born in the summer of 1949, she was the daughter of the late

She left the insurance agency business in 1999 to concentrate on the care of her handicapped daughter, Lisa. She would take her to all the necessary appointments while she was still physically able.
Phyllis loved cooking and discovering new recipes to try. A huge fan of the Food Network, she would watch her favorite chefs and then make changes to the recipes to suit her tastes. Her dishes were always very well received by her family and guests alike. She had many subscriptions to food magazines and would scour the pages looking for interesting things to make for her family. She was an avid collector of cookbooks and had many shelves full of them. It brought her much pleasure to be a good homemaker and home chef; she did both exceedingly well.
Caring for her daughter, Lisa was always her number one priority in her life. She was also an avid reader of fictional novels — a book was never far from her favorite chair.
Along with her husband and daughter, Phyllis is also survived by her two brothers:
