Pan-American Life Insurance Group Announces New Global Benefits Structure and Leadership

Business Wire

NEW ORLEANS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Pan-American Life Insurance Group (PALIG), a leading provider of insurance and financial services throughout the Americas, announced today that John Foley, President of the U.S. Group business, will be retiring September 1, 2018. Robert DiCianni, current President of the company’s International Group business will assume leadership of the new Global Benefits unit, which consolidates the International and U.S. Group businesses under one organization.

A nine-year veteran of PALIG, Mr. Foley led the company’s health and accident employee benefits business, inclusive of product development and distribution activation, in the United States and its territories. He also was responsible for the Special Markets business. Mr. Foley’s time with Pan-American Life caps a long and distinguished career as an insurance executive, dating back more than 30 years.

“John has been planning for this moment for some time and he leaves behind a very strong foundation and team in our Group Benefits business in the United States,” said José S. Suquet, Chairman of the Board, President and CEO of Pan-American Life Insurance Group. “I will miss a true partner who over the last nine years has been an integral part of the success and historic growth of Pan-American Life.”

Mr. DiCianni, who has been with PALIG since 2011, will now be President of Global Benefits with responsibility for the company’s employee benefits, multinational solutions, individual health and mass marketing businesses across all geographies. He boasts a long track record as an insurance executive with various companies in the U.S. and Latin America.

“The transition of these two groups under the Global Benefits structure will allow our teams to better leverage best practices and provide new and expanded opportunities to Pan-American Life employees,” said Suquet. “Bob has led the transformation of our International Group business. Under his leadership, the Global Benefits is poised to deliver on our strategic priorities and drive future growth.”
