On the Move: Promotion for Irwin woman, scholarship for Norwin senior

May 5—Irwin native Bethany Dressler, who lives in Erie, was promoted to account manager for HUB HDH, a global insurance broker with offices in Erie.

Dressler, a Norwin High School graduate, has worked at HUB for seven years. Its regional headquarters is in downtown Pittsburgh.

She previously was enrollment coordinator.

Dressler received her bachelor's degree in music education from Slippery Rock University. She holds licenses in Life, Accident and Health Insurance and Property and Casualty Insurance from the state.

Madison Rose, a Norwin High School senior, was awarded a $5,000 per year scholarship for a total of $20,000 over four years to Davis & Elkins College in West Virginia after participating in the Senator Leadership & Scholarship Day in December. Rose was selected from a group of the 55 highest achieving high school seniors who are among hundreds of students accepted to attend D&E this fall.

Rose is the daughter of Jeremy and Kristina Rose of North Huntingdon. At Norwin High School, she is a member of the soccer team, student council and National Honor Society.

At Davis & Elkins College, Rose plans to major in chemistry. She has plans of attending graduate school in the future to earn a doctorate in pharmacy.

To be eligible to compete for a Leadership Scholarship, students must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Students also were required to submit a list of outstanding leadership honors or awards they have received and describe three skills that have strengthened them as a leader.
