Northampton Community College’s Sedgwick Harris to be honored and other hires, promotions and awards

Sedgwick Harris

Sedgwick Harris, Northampton Community College vice president of student affairs and enrollment is set to receive the Distinguished College Administrator Award during the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society annual convention April 2-4.

Harris earned an associate degree in general studies from Southwestern Michigan Community College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in mass communications from Northwestern Oklahoma State University.

He also holds a Master of Arts degree in education leadership from Western Michigan University and is pursuing doctoral studies in community college leadership at Ferris State University.

Susan Kessler Lynn

April Sims

Phoebe Ministries Allentown has appointed Susan Kessler Lynn as regional director of rehabilitation and April Sims as administrator of Miller Personal Care.

Lynn will oversee rehabilitation services, including skilled nursing, short-term rehab, and outpatient services at Phoebe’s four continuing care retirement communities. She is also responsible for clinical outcomes and evaluation.

Lynn received her BA from the University of Connecticut and is a licensed physical therapist in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland and South Carolina.

Sims, a licensed practical nurse, is responsible for administration, programming and management of personal care. She received her LPN diploma from Penn State Lehigh Valley and holds certifications in personal care administration, CPR instruction, basic life support instruction, infusion therapy and wound treatment.

Sherry Schaffer

HMK Insurance recently announced the appointment of Sherry Schaffer as chief financial officer.

Schaffer replaces George Mowrer, who stepped down after 25 years in the role. She joined the company in 2002 and has since managed all aspects of the accounting department. She is one of two women on the HMK management team.

HKM was founded in 1914 and specialized in property and casualty insurance as well as employee benefits.
