North Carolina Utilities Commission Issues Order Involving Hands 2 Hands

RALEIGH, North Carolina, April 25 -- The North Carolina Utilities Commission issued the following order (Docket No. T-4711):

In the Matter of Hands 2 Hands, Inc., 3925 Beryl Road, Raleigh, North Carolina 27607 - Termination of Cargo Insurance

ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE IN THE MATTER OF REVOCATION OF CERTIFICATE OF EXEMPTION FOR FAILURE TO MAINTAIN INSURANCE

BY THE COMMISSION: The Commission has been advised by the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles that they have received notification from National Indemnity Co., that your cargo insurance coverage was canceled as of March 27, 2019.

On March 18, 2019, the Commission issued its Order, in Docket No. T-100, Sub 108, suspending the certificate of exemption of the above-named carrier for failure to keep on file with the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles, For-Hire Section, evidence of insurance for the protection of the public as is required by N.C. Gen. Stat. Section 62-268 and Commission Rule R2-36. The said motor carrier should be required to appear and show cause why its certificate of exemption should not be revoked.

IT IS, THEREFORE, ORDERED as follows:

1. That Hands 2 Hands, Inc., be, and the same is hereby, required to appear in Commission Hearing Room 2115, Dobbs Building, 430 North Salisbury Street, Raleigh, North Carolina, at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2019, and show cause, if any it has, why its certificate of exemption should not be revoked for willful failure to maintain on file with the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles, For-Hire Section, appropriate security for the protection of the public as is required by N.C. Gen. Stat. Section 62-268 and Commission Rule R2-36.
