North American Property Restoration Company Targets San Diego for Large Scale Growth

Business Wire

PuroClean CEO and Franchise Owners Will Discuss the Rising Demand for Restoration Services Sept. 13

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- About one in 15 insured homes in San Diego has a property damage claim each year resulting from water or fire damage, to the tune of $7.2 billion in direct losses incurred within the San Diego metro market.

To respond to the unprecedented demand and expand its network to serve the restoration needs in the San Diego area, a team of corporate executives from Florida-based PuroClean is flying into the area seeking potential local franchisees. PuroClean is a North American franchise company whose franchise owners provide certified, trained professionals to serve homes and businesses damaged by water, mold, fire and natural disasters.

PuroClean CEO Mark Davis, along with two Southern California PuroClean franchise owners – Pat Guiant, of San Diego, a former firefighter and paramedic experienced in traumatic situations, and married couple Jon and Carly Chalker, of Murrieta, who have backgrounds in construction and insurance, respectively – will host a pair of events on Sept. 13. Davis will share his vision for the national restoration company and why owning a franchise in San Diego could be the start of a career with unlimited potential for personal, professional and financial growth; Guiant and the Chalkers will share their experience as PuroClean franchise owners, why they joined the brand, and the positive impact it has had on their lives.

The events will be held at the Hilton San Diego Mission Valley, 901 Camino Del Rio South, San Diego, California. The first session will take place at 10 a.m., while the second will be at 1 p.m.

San Diego is one of 11 new markets PuroClean has targeted for expansion due to high demand for restoration services. With more than 230 units in its franchise network, PuroClean is projected to add 40 new franchise owners across the United States, growing the network to nearly 300 in 2016. PuroClean also has 32 franchises in Canada.

“When damage occurs, property owners file claims with their insurance companies, who in turn refer and pay a professional restoration company to clean up and mitigate the damage. Situations like this arise at any time, making our business constantly in demand,” Davis said. “Our PuroClean franchise owners manage a crew to do the work, spend their time marketing the business, and establish relationships with the insurance agencies that drive business to PuroClean.”

More than 50,000 water damage losses occur per day in the United States, as well as $21.6 million in daily fire damage losses. Overall, around the country, the restoration industry is a $188 billion industry. Davis noted that while many people associate cleanup and restoration with large-scale natural disasters, a significant share of calls for PuroClean service stems from common household and business mishaps such as overflowing washing machines, leaking pipes, loose freezer/ice maker lines, mold growth that ensues after a water loss, and kitchen fires. About 37 percent of American homeowners claim water damage through their insurance company. In fact, water damage claims are growing faster than any other component of homeowner’s insurance, according to the American Insurance Association.

“PuroClean is known as the ‘Paramedics of Property Damage’ for a reason,” said Steve White, president and COO of PuroClean. “Our franchise owners are the everyday heroes that help restore properties and help get people’s lives back to normal.”
