NIagara Falls woman charged in July 4 car crash that killed passenger

Aug. 28--A 24-year-old woman was arrested Thursday on multiple charges related to the July 4 car crash in Niagara Falls which resulted in the death of a passenger, the Niagara Falls Police Department announced.
Authorities said Breanna Best, 24, of Niagara Falls was the driver of a car that struck the porch of a house on Hyde Park Boulevard near the intersection with Porter Road.
Precious Cox, 27, of Niagara Falls, was a back-seat passenger in the car and was killed as a result of the crash. Two other passengers were injured.
Best was arraigned in Niagara Falls City Court on the felony charge of second-degree vehicular manslaughter. She faces misdemeanor charges of four counts of driving while intoxicated by drugs and alcohol, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, reckless driving.
She was also charged with several vehicle and traffic violations, including speeding, no seat belt, no insurance, driving while registration suspended and uninspected motor vehicle.
Best was released with non-monetary bail conditions including probation supervision, a GPS monitor and a curfew, officials said.
Best is scheduled to return to court on Sept. 16 for a preliminary hearing.
