National HealthCare posts 4Q profit

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) _ National HealthCare Corp. (NHC) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter profit of $13.9 million.

On a per-share basis, the Murfreesboro, Tennessee-based company said it had net income of 91 cents.

The nursing home and assisted living company posted revenue of $238 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $50.5 million, or $3.32 per share. Revenue was reported as $926.6 million.

National HealthCare shares have decreased roughly 4 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 19 percent in the last 12 months.
