National HealthCare posts 3Q profit

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) _ National HealthCare Corp. (NHC) on Thursday reported third-quarter profit of $11.4 million.

On a per-share basis, the Murfreesboro, Tennessee-based company said it had profit of 75 cents.

The nursing home and assisted living company posted revenue of $242 million in the period.

National HealthCare shares have fallen 17 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $63.25, a fall of roughly 4 percent in the last 12 months.
