NAIFA Congratulates 2023 NAIC Leaders

FALLS CHURCH, Virginia, Dec. 20 (TNSper) -- The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors issued the following news release:

NAIFA would like to congratulate newly elected National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) elect officers for 2023:

* President: Missouri Insurance Director Chlora Lindley-Myers. Chlora Lindley-Myers was confirmed as the director of the Missouri Department of Commerce and Insurance on April 13, 2017.

* President-Elect: Connecticut Insurance Commissioner Andrew N. Mais. Andrew N. Mais was nominated as the commissioner of the Connecticut Insurance Department effective March 4, 2019.

* Vice President: North Dakota Insurance Commissioner Jon Godfread. Jon Godfread was first elected as the commissioner of the North Dakota Insurance Department on November 8, 2016.

* Secretary-Treasurer: Virginia Insurance Commissioner Scott A. White. Scott A. White was appointed Commissioner of the Virginia Bureau of Insurance effective January 1, 2018.

"NAIFA looks forward to working with the NAIC and its newly elected leadership team in 2023," said NAIFA President Lawrence Holzberg, LUTCF, LACP. "Through our continued dialog and collaboration, we will promote policies and models that provide strong consumer protections while ensuring that agents and advisors remain able to serve the best financial interests of Main Street families and businesses."

NAIFA works with the NAIC and other interstate advocacy groups to create and advance model rules and regulations and explore policy areas that impact insurance and financial services. NAIFA leaders, including Trustees Chris Gandy, LACP, and Winona Havir, CPCU, CLF, LUTCF, FSS, AIC, LACP, have spoken and provided testimony at NAIC meetings on issues important to NAIFA members and the insurance and financial security industry. NAIFA is a strong proponent of the NAIC's model rule for annuity transactions and has been a driving force behind getting legislation and regulations incorporating the model enacted in 30 states.
