MouthWatch Showcases New TeleHealth Solution TeleDent™ for Dental Care at Annual ADA Meeting Known for Highlighting Dental Innovation
MouthWatch co-founder and CEO,
Speaking on the origins of the product, Herman says,
"We see huge potential in teledentistry to connect practices to patients who are not currently receiving dental care, whether due to their geographic location, insurance coverage or income level. By making teledentistry solutions turnkey, it opens the doors of private practices and public health programs to the significant percentage of American children, adults and elderly who do not or cannot see the dentist regularly."
TeleDent™ is designed to be a HIPAA-compliant turnkey platform for reaching patients wherever they may be location - at schools, nursing homes, health clinics and public events. In one use case, dental hygienists can bring the expertise of a dentist to off-site screenings by sharing images, live video and patient data with a supervising dentist who can then determine if an office visit is required. Or the system is designed to be able to store that data in the cloud for later review by the dentist at their convenience.
MouthWatch will also introduce a tool to aid dentists with in-office diagnostics: opaque sleeves for their intraoral camera that offer dentists the ability to capture high quality images of a trans-illuminated or fluoresced tooth.
"If you use fluorescence for oral cancer screenings or trans-illuminators for identification of tooth fractures or caries, the custom-fit BlackSleeve combined with the MouthWatch intraoral camera makes it easy to document your findings, share them with insurance carriers and also show them to patients," explains Herman.
MouthWatch will be at Booth #2668,
