Meridian Health Plan of Michigan Rated Among Top Medicaid Plans in State

DETROIT, Sept. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Meridian Health Plan of Michigan is rated 4 out of 5 among Medicaid plans in the US in NCQA's Medicaid Health Insurance Plan Ratings 2015–2016.

Meridian Health Plan of Michigan is one of 28 Medicaid plans in the US that received an overall rating of 4 out of 5. Meridian Health Plan of Michigan was ranked the number one Medicaid HMO in Michigan and ninth in the nation according to NCQA's Medicaid Health Insurance Plan Rankings 2014-2015. NCQA changed its rankings methodology in 2015. The new methodology is an overall "rating" on a scale of 1–5, where 5 is the highest score and 1 is the lowest score.

Meridian Health Plan of Michigan was also awarded an accreditation status of Commendable for service and clinical quality that meet NCQA's rigorous requirements for consumer protection and quality improvement. NCQA Health Plan Accreditation evaluates the quality of health care that health plans provide to their members.
