Mark Meadows voter fraud case file submitted to NC Attorney General's Office, SBI says

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — On Tuesday afternoon, a case file regarding former Trump White House Chief of Staff and NC Congressman Mark Meadows and allegations of voter fraud was officially submitted.

According to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, it will not be the agency that determine whether criminal charges are appropriate. Instead, the decision will be that of the NC Attorney General's Office.

Prosecutors with the AG's office will be performing a final review of the case before making their determination.

The SBI began a voter-fraud investigation concerning Meadows in March.

Meadows was removed from North Carolina's voter rolls in April when it came to light that Meadows was registered to vote in September 2020 at a mobile home in Scaly Mountain, N.C., despite not residing there.

The Macon County Board of Elections said he last voted in Virginia in 2021, according to the State Board of Elections.
