Mapfre and Sanitas deepen their alliance in Latin America: after Peru, they land in Paraguay
CE Noticias Financieras (Latin America)
Bupa, Sanitas' parent company, and Mapfre sealed their alliance a year ago to offer international health insurance in Latin America. The first step of this agreement was the marketing of health policies in Peru, and today the second phase has materialized, the landing in Paraguay. There are also plans to develop joint business in Uruguay.
Thanks to this alliance, customers will be able to access the highest quality health care products and services in the world. As part of the global offer, Mapfre policyholders in Paraguay will have access to one of the most extensive and recognized networks of medical providers through Bupa, an international health specialist with more than 43 million customers worldwide.
The local and international plans offered in Paraguay under this alliance, Trébol Salud Global and Trébol Salud Global Exclusive, have an annual benefit of up to 7 million dollars and coverage of up to 100%, in excess of the contracted deductible, for care in Paraguay and abroad for outpatient and inpatient treatment, surgery, maternity, oncology, transplant procedures, congenital diseases, coverage for high-risk sports and many other benefits.
For years, the Bupa group has mandated its managers in Spain to lead the company's growth in Latin America. There, they bought a healthcare company in Chile, Cruz Blanca; a hospital in Mexico. In fact, the CEO of Sanitas, Iñaki Peralta, is also the head of Bupa in Latin America and Continental Europe. And his predecessor, Iñaki Ereño, became the group's top executive two years ago.
