Mr. R.C. Greene, who died last Wednesday at noon, carried a policy with the Columbia Life Insurance Company in the afternoon. Mr. A.A. Redmon, the company's agent, learned of his death and notified the Company's offices in Cincinnati. Mr. Cross, the president of the company, was out of the city, and for this reason, there was a delay of over six hours, but within 36 hours of Mr. Greene's death, the check was on its way to Owenton to be paid to the beneficiary. That is the quickest payment of a death claim that has come to our attention.
