Mar. 22—HIGH POINT — A High Point woman has been charged with automobile insurance fraud by the N.C. Department of Insurance.
Azenia Kulah Somah, 43, was served a summons for one count each of insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretenses, the department announced Friday.
According to the department's Criminal Investigations Division, Somah provided misleading information to Metropolitan Property and Casualty Insurance Co. About damage to her car this past November to defraud the insurer out of $4,523.
Agents said Somah reported that her 2012 Nissan Sentra was struck by another vehicle but the Sentra had struck a parked vehicle.
