Aug. 18—THOMASVILLE — The state Insurance and Fire Commissioner's office has ruled a house fire that happened on July 26 as arson.
"Investigators with the State Fire Marshal's Unit found flares outside of the residence that appear to be the source of ignition," Commissioner John F. King said in a press release.
The fire occurred at 1:30 a.m. at Millpond Road in Millpond Plantation and destroyed a 700-square-foot-residence.
Investigators also reported that the residence was unoccupied for some time before the fire and there were no connected utilities.
The state Fire Investigations Unit is offering a reward up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest of anyone responsible.
Anyone with information regarding the arson is advised to call the Fire Investigations Unit at 1-800-282-5804.
