Learning how life insurance can help charity

The Gaston Community Foundation hosted a continuing education event on May 7 for professional advisors at Gaston Country Club. The foundation offers a lunch and one hour of free continuing education annually to attorneys, CPAs and financial advisors.

"Professional advisors are a key resource for our community in communicating giving vehicles and structuring planned gifts," said Ernest Sumner, president, in a press release. "The Gaston Community Foundation values the expertise local attorneys, CPAs and financial advisors provide in working with clients to achieve their charitable goals."

Tim Paschall, certified financial planner and CEO of Paschall & Associates was the featured speaker for the event. The program topic was life insurance fundamentals. The presentation included information regarding the basics of life insurance and the use of life insurance for the benefit of charities.

The continuing education event allows time for professionals to network with one another and also a time for the foundation to recognize advisors who have partnered with the foundation for the right client. Professional advisors are encouraged to partner with the Community Foundation when it comes to charitable tax saving solutions.
