WASHINGTON, April 30 -- The League of Conservation Voters issued the following news release:
The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will support sound environmental policies, announced today its endorsement of U.S. Representative Dina Titus for reelection in Nevada's1st Congressional District.
"Representative Dina Titus has been a strong voice in Congress for clean energy and climate action," said League of Conservation Voters Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. "When the Trump Administration threatened public lands in Nevada, she fought to protect Gold Butte National Monument and preserve access to public lands for all. We are thrilled to endorse her for reelection."
"We can count on Representative Titus to stand against efforts to bring nuclear waste to Nevada," said Nevada Conservation League Executive Director Andy Maggi. "She understands that developing Yucca Mountain as a storage facility would threaten Nevada's public health and environment for generations to come. Representative Titus has been our fighter and champion standing up for Nevadans' air and water for her entire career."
"I am proud to be endorsed for reelection by the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund and to have worked with them for years on environmental issues ranging from protecting public lands to developing renewable energy," said Congresswoman Dina Titus. "They know I will always fight against putting high level nuclear waste at Yucca Mt. and will stand up to attempts by this administration to further degrade our planet."
As the senior member of Nevada's House delegation, Representative Dina Titus has prioritized fighting climate change and has opposed efforts to roll back rules that limit carbon emissions. Titus has worked to preserve clean water protections and promote the development of solar and other clean energy sources in Nevada and across the nation. She has earned an impressive 96% lifetime score on LCV's National Environmental Scorecard.
