Keene woman faces numerous charges after two-car crash
Keene Sentinel (NH)
April 18--A Keene woman is accused of driving drunk and causing a serious two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Optical Avenue and Tiffin Street in the city early this morning, according to police.
Elisha Riley, 33, is charged with driving while intoxicated, subsequent offense; driving after revocation of license; failure to yield; transporting alcoholic beverages; and driving without giving proof of financial responsibility, for not having insurance, according to Keene police Lt. Shane C. Maxfield.
Police responded to Optical Avenue at about 4 a.m. for a report of a T-bone crash that did not result in any injuries, Maxfield said.
Riley, who was driving on Tiffin Street, failed to yield before crossing Optical Avenue, he said. Her 2002 Toyota Camry struck a 2013 Mazda CX-9 driven by Joseph Derosier, 35, of Jaffrey, who was driving to work, Maxfield said.
Both vehicles were totaled and their airbags deployed.
That section of Optical Avenue was closed for about an hour this morning as a result of the crash.
Riley was released on $5,000 personal recognizance and is scheduled to be arraigned April 28 in 8th Circuit Court District Division in Keene.
