Not sure why I feel so alone, as the US Senate considers passing the American Health Care Act, but if feels that way when the public is kept in the dark while GOP Senate leadership drafts this legislation. I am one of 20+ million people who would ultimately give tax breaks to billionaires if my health insurance coverage were to be cut by AHCA. Tens of thousands in Montana could lose coverage - dictated by billionaires’ own benefit. Our local rural hospitals could lose a significant portion of their Medicaid payments, which will force many to close and our rural state’s families will not be protected.
Because of my recent torn retina, I now have a pre-existing condition and may be unable to buy insurance. Upon re-occurrence, I could go blind, but the billionaires will get their new tax break as they dictate my blindness to gain their lofty benefit. As an older guy, not-yet eligible for Medicare, my premiums would increase 8-fold under AHCA, if I can get health insurance at all. No wonder I feel so alone.
Join me in OPPOSING the American Health Care Act. Write Senators Daines and Tester to oppose new tax breaks for billionaires.
