Johnston Tobey Baruch Lands Three Attorneys on List of 500 Leading Lawyers in America

PR Newswire

DALLAS, April 2, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- The three name shareholders in the Dallas trial and appellate firm of Johnston Tobey Baruch have been named to the Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyers in America for 2020.

One of the most respected guides to the legal profession, honorees for the 15th edition of the annual list were selected from a combination of editorial research by Lawdragon staff, submissions from law firms, and nominations through the publication's online portal.

"It seems remarkable that a small Dallas firm with four attorneys places three on such an elite list and in such good company," says the firm's Randy Johnston. "This recognition speaks to the respect we've earned and the success we've achieved for our clients in litigation, arbitration and appellate matters over many years."

Mr. Johnston is renowned for pioneering legal malpractice litigation in the state of Texas. His experience also covers a wide range of matters involving professional conduct in select professions. Mr. Johnston was recognized in the 2020 edition of The Best Lawyers in America as Lawyer of the Year in Dallas/Fort Worth for work with plaintiffs in professional malpractice.

Robert Tobey has 40 years of litigation experience representing clients and lawyers in legal malpractice and professional liability claims, ethical issues and fee disputes. He is respected within the legal community for his broad knowledge of civil law and the ethical issues in legal practice management. He is currently serving as president of the Dallas Bar Association and was named the Dallas/Fort Worth Lawyer of the Year for 2020 in legal malpractice law for plaintiffs by Best Lawyers in America.

Chad Baruch is the managing shareholder of the firm and a recognized constitutional scholar, speaker and author who is well known in legal circles for his appellate work. He has represented clients in a variety of family law and civil appeals before the Supreme Court of Texas, appellate courts across the state and U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Third, Fifth, Seventh and Eighth Circuits. He has served on the State Bar of Texas board of directors and executive committee and as the chair and a member of the board of directors for the Texas Bar College, from which he received the Jim Bowmer Professionalism Award in 2019.

Johnston Tobey Baruch is one of the few firms of its size that has trial and appellate practices under one roof, and the firm's three name shareholders are each Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

About Johnston Tobey Baruch:  Johnston Tobey Baruch is a dynamic law practice based in Dallas. Its trial and appellate attorneys have a broad range of litigation, arbitration and appellate experience. They are pioneers in the handling of legal and accounting malpractice, investment fraud and business disputes. They also have an enviable track record with insurance bad faith matters, commercial litigation and fiduciary litigation, as well as civil, family and criminal appeals for many prominent Texas companies and individuals.
